Chrissy Faessen, Principal

Chrissy takes the lead on our public relations practice, working every day to elevate issues on behalf of our clients. She brings twelve years of experience in advertising, marketing, and communications, and a wealth of creative strategies for engaging a new generation of young Americans.

As Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Rock the Vote, Chrissy oversaw the organization's broadcast, digital, communication, and mobile programs. Using music, popular culture, and new technology, she built campaigns to engage and mobilize millions of young people to participate in the political process. She led community forums, national webinars, and online and offline advertising campaigns, resulting in Rock the Vote's largest non-partisan voter registration campaigns in the 2008 and 2012 elections, registering more than 3 million voters.

Faessen developed (and continues to spearhead) Rock the Vote's first high school civics program, Democracy Class. The program, supported by an advisory board of professionals from education, media, and music communities, educates and excites high school students about voting, elections, and governance. 

Prior to joining the Rock the Vote team, she served as Business Director at DDB Issues and Advocacy, a progressive issues advertising practice, part of DDB Worldwide. In her capacity as Business Director at DDB, she waged advocacy, public policy, and advertising strategies, including placing stories in the top US media outlets. Faessen worked with clients such as the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Save the Children, PATH, Reproductive Heath Technologies Project, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies, and HopeLab. Additionally, as part of various campaign spotlight stories, she has been quoted in the PR Week and numerous other trade publications. While Faessen's work speaks for itself, it has also received awards from the Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators, and The Webbys.
